9 purchase-intent signals you should look for

Intent isn't guessed: it's observed. These are the nine signals that show a contact is ready to buy, and why they change how you should treat them.

The whole business of buying leads revolves around one word: intent. A contact with intent is close to buying; one without it isn't. But "intent" sounds abstract. In practice it translates into concrete, observable signals you can look for in any lead. Here are the nine most reliable.

1. They asked for a quote

The most direct signal. Someone asking the price of something specific has already decided they want it; they're only evaluating who to buy from. The hottest lead possible.

2. They compared options

If the contact has looked at several providers, they're in the decision phase, not curiosity. Close to yes; your job is to be the best option in their comparison.

3. They asked about availability or timelines

"When could you have it?" is a buyer's question, not a browser's. It implies they already picture themselves using it.

4. They mentioned a concrete deadline

"I need it this month" is explicit urgency. Urgency is one of the best predictors of closing. It weighs heavily in lead scoring.

5. They have a defined budget

A contact who knows how much they can spend has already done the internal work of justifying the purchase. It also filters out who can't pay you.

6. They detail their problem

When someone describes their situation in detail —not "general info" but "I have this specific problem"— it's because they're really feeling it and seeking a solution, not entertainment.

7. They respond fast

Response speed isn't only yours: the lead's informs too. Someone replying in minutes is engaged. Someone taking days is cooling.

8. Recent action

Freshness matters. A signal from two hours ago is worth far more than the same signal from two weeks ago. Intent expires.

9. They make repeat contact

A contact who returns —second visit, second form, second question— is far more committed than a one-touch one.

The more signals, the hotter. A lead with three or four of these isn't worked like one with zero. One you call now; the other enters nurturing.

Intent leaves traces. Learn to read them and you'll know who to call before you even dial.

We deliver the signals, not just the contact

At CompraLeads we qualify by these signals before delivering the lead, and in the intent and closing tiers we pass them to you with each contact. Your team knows who to call first without guessing. Write to contacto@compraleads.es.
